It happens. We all wake up with that back and neck pain and never know where it came from. Maybe I slept wrong? Maybe I did something the night before?
Have you ever thought maybe your pillow can be causing this pain?
Based on Nate Berkus new book, The Things That Matter, Nate says that the most important thing that matters when it comes to getting a good night’s sleep is choosing the right pillow.
Which actually makes sense! So many times i slept on a bad pillow and woke up with neck pain that lasted the whole day. Not anymore! There is a certain pillow for you to relieve the strain.
Side Sleepers – If you sleep on your side you want to use a latex pillow because it is firmer and gives you more support for you face and neck, which will cause less neck painBack Sleepers – If you sleep on your back, the best pillow for you is one made of down and feather because you need to be able to push that filling down into the lower third of the pillow, which will make it better for you ergonomically speaking because you are sleeping on your back.
Stomach Sleeper – People who sleep on their stomach should ideally have more than one pillow that is thin and made from wool or cotton because if you put one under your stomach it will take the strain off your lower back.
So next time you go out pillow shopping, make sure to keep these tips in mind.
